Poste Italiane’s cloud development, highlighted several times by CEO Matteo Del Fante, also passes through the agreement with Microsoft Italia, Poste’s partner in the innovation programme and the digital transformation process of the Group and Italy. At the beginning of May, Poste and Microsoft announced a new agreement that aims to continue the digital transformation path initiated by Poste, on one hand, while, on the other hand, promoting the provision of advanced and digital services for Italian companies and the public administration, as well as joint training activities on new technology skills which are increasingly in demand in the workforce.

The partnership coincides with Microsoft’s launch of a major investment in the country’s cloud infrastructure and a relaunch plan — Ambizione Italia #DigitalRestart — that will give new impetus to the collaboration between the two groups for the creation of innovative digital services that public and private companies can count on to grow. Poste Italiane leveraged the Microsoft Cloud, benefiting from Microsoft 365 solutions that facilitated the introduction of a new and more efficient working model, also with a remote working approach during the COVID-19 emergency phase, using Dynamics 365 and Artificial Intelligence services to improve customer experience in all Poste Italiane’s business areas (mail and parcel delivery, financial and insurance services, payment systems and mobile phone services). Finally, thanks to Microsoft Azure, Poste Italiane has evolved its IT infrastructure, making it more scalable and secure to ensure swifter and more agile innovation processes.
