poste polis

Polis goes live with Inps services. The Poste Italiane project aims to transform Post Offices into the home of digital services, a One Stop Shop to make access to Public Administration services quick and easy in 7 thousand municipalities with less than 15 thousand inhabitants.

Services already available

Inps services for pensioners are already available in 260 Post Offices. Pensioners will be able to request their pension coupons, the ‘Certificazione Unica’ (Single Certification) and the ‘OBIS M’ form, which summarises all the information relating to their pension cheque, at the counter. The services will be active by July in all 7,000 Post Offices involved in the project. Thus continues the implementation of Poste Italiane’s Polis project, presented last January, approved by Decree Law 59/2021 and financed with 800 million Euro under the National Plan for Complementary Investments to the PNRR.

Next steps

In addition to social security and judicial certificates, in the coming months it will be possible to obtain registry and civil status certificates, electronic identity cards, passports, tax codes for newborns, and numerous other services in addition to postal, financial, logistics, insurance and telecommunications services.

The modernisation of post offices

The new services will be provided in the Post Office through dedicated counters and rooms and, later, also in digital mode thanks to 4,000 totems operating 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, which will allow citizens to make requests directly. The renovation work of the Polis project started in about 500 Post Offices, more than 300 construction sites have been completed throughout Italy and, by the end of 2023, there will be a total of 1,500 new Polis offices.

Energy efficiency

The Polis project also contributes to energy efficiency and green mobility through the installation of 5,000 charging stations for electric vehicles and 1,000 photovoltaic systems. Poste Italiane is also implementing the ‘Spaces for Italy’ project – the largest co-working network in the country – with the creation of 250 smart, interconnected sites, derived from the valorisation of company-owned properties.
