On Saturday, Poste Italiane employees took to the field in four Italian cities to make their contribution to World Cleanup Day, the global day to combat the global problem of pollution from abandoned or illegally disposed solid waste. Poste Italiane thus participated in World Cleanup Day 2023 by calling on its employees to join ‘Faccio Bene’, the initiative that brings together multiple volunteering activities.
A special day
TG Poste cameras travelled to Naples to witness the Cleanup action on the “spiaggia delle industrie” (beach of industries) in San Giovanni a Teduccio. Volunteer Poste Italiane employees gathered on the beach to collect the abandoned rubbish, sorting it so that collection could be finished before sunset: ‘I am happy to be here today and to be able to set an example especially for future generations,’ emphasised Dario, one of the Poste Italiane employees who took part in the initiative. ‘Poste is a big family, made up of men and women committed not only when it comes to work, but also to praiseworthy initiatives such as this one.’
Social responsibility projects
It is no coincidence that the company’s involvement in social responsibility projects is one of the missions that Poste has always set for itself and that is reflected in concrete actions, such as the contribution offered in Naples and other Italian cities on this World Cleanup Day 2023. The day was also attended by Let’s do It Italy, the environmental protection association that operates throughout the country with the main objective of cleaning up the world from waste and combating climate change.
Postal operators throughout Europe
The initiative, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of PostEurop – the association of European public postal operators, global partner of World Cleanup Day 2023 – involved, together with Poste Italiane, sixteen other postal operators from all over Europe who took the field to clean their respective territories.
