For the second year running, Poste Italiane has made the podium in the Identity Corporate Index (ICI) 2024 thanks to its ESG policies and its ability to create value for the country-system. The results of the ICI 2024 survey, the first index dedicated to corporate ESG Identity in which around 100 companies listed on the Ftse Mib (53% of the list) took part, were presented at the ‘ESG Business Conference’ and offer an analysis of the preparedness of companies when it comes to facing future sustainability challenges.
ESG Parameters
More specifically, the ICI 2024 measures the processes followed to foster sustainable business results, the existence of a remuneration policy linked to ESG parameters, gender balance in the Board of Directors, the ability to communicate corporate objectives in a clear, transparent and effective manner, stakeholder relations, value chain due diligence and the management of non-financial data. In 2024, ICI’s extraordinary survey focused on ‘Managers for the Polis (πόλις)’, highlighting the importance of Poste Italiane as a company aware of its role in the life of the community and of the strategic and competitive value of its ESG policies.
Solid and effective results
“Being among the top three leading companies in the ICI index means that analysts recognise Poste Italiane’s increasingly solid and effective results when it comes to the integration of sustainability principles into its governance and business, which contributes significantly to our ability to achieve the strategic objectives of the Industrial Plan,” said Poste Italiane’s CEO Matteo Del Fante. “This approach favours the creation of shared value in the long term, increasing the attractiveness of our Group on the market and strengthening the trust of all our stakeholders.”
The challenges of sustainability
“The position obtained in the ESG ICI 2024 edition is a further confirmation of how effectively ESG governance has been integrated in every activity of the Group, thanks to the commitment and daily contribution of all the people at Poste Italiane, and confirms the company’s ability to successfully face future sustainability challenges.” – said Giuseppe Lasco, General Manager of Poste Italiane – “The result makes us particularly proud due to the excellent rating obtained by Poste Italiane in the ‘Manager for the polis’ thematic area: the initiatives carried out to support the development of the territories have led to the recognition of the social responsibility of our action in support of the country, and of the strategic and competitive effects of the integration of our ESG policies.”
