Poste Italiane is once again taking part in the ‘Mese Verde’ (Green Month) this year: starting today on Monday 20 March, and for thirty days, the company will support events aimed at raising awareness of good ‘green’ practices. One of these initiatives is Earth Hour, scheduled for 25 March, when the company will switch off or dim the lights in its offices, following last month’s “Mi illumino di meno”: an appointment with an international scope promoted over ten years by the WWF to increase awareness of the value of nature and biodiversity and to contribute to safeguarding the planet through a symbolic gesture.
Sustainable behaviour
The dissemination of a rulebook on sustainable behaviour to be adopted in everyday life is further evidence of Poste Italiane’s commitment to an environmental culture: from small daily actions and the use of efficient technology such as LEDs for lighting, to rational travel planning. Commitment to the environment is one of the pillars in reaching the zero-emission goal set for 2030, as confirmed by the Group’s ‘2024 Sustain & Innovate’ Strategic Plan.
From Green Month to Earth Day
World Earth Day will symbolically close this green period. The event, proclaimed by the United Nations, falls one month and two days after the spring equinox on 22 April, to celebrate the environment and the preservation of planet Earth.
